Groping and Driving
Matt Schlapp groped a patron and then drove off intoxicated in a 2018 BMW, per Rappahannock sheriff's report
According to a Rappahannock County sheriff report, Matt Schlapp, the leader of the organization that puts on CPAC, groped a customer at a bar, then drove off intoxicated.
The alleged groping, which was first reported by Yashar Ali at The Reset News, involved a man who was at the bar with his female partner. According to the report, first covered by Rappahannock News and reviewed by TTD, the owner of the bar called the police, and informed them that Schlapp had driven off, likely intoxicated. The sheriff’s office told Rappahannock News they had not been able to find Schlapp.
This is just the latest in a series of accusations of sexual misconduct for Schlapp.
Earlier today, Schlapp announced this year’s CPAC would be the final one.
Last year at the RNC, Schlapp informed me, “we are doing great at CPAC. Our finances have never been stronger. Our reputation, both in America and overseas, has never been better.” When I asked if CPAC was having difficulty getting sponsorships, he asked who I worked for, and told me they had no difficulties at all. Schlapp then declared that I was “hostile” and refused to take questions from those sitting around me.
According to sources familiar with the matter, vendors have been reluctant to associate themselves with CPAC, largely due to the actions of Schlapp over the years.
During his announcement today, Schlapp indicated CPAC has “been a tough sell.”
