Is ICE Targeting Journalists?
They say they aren't!
ICE has violently shoved journalists at the Federal Plaza immigration court in New York, causing one to be admitted to the hospital for head trauma. At the Broadview facility, a CBS reporter says her vehicle was targeted with a pepper ball, during a time that protesters were not even present. During the protests, a journalist was arrested. Mario Guevara, an Atlanta-based journalist who was arrested filming a protest in June, is facing deportation as soon as today. Reporters have repeatedly filmed themselves and each other being hit by less lethal rounds.
Chicago Headline Club has spoken out against ICE’s attacks on journalists. The Society for Professional Journalists has condemned ICE’s attacks on journalists. In June, Los Angeles Press Club, First Amendment Coalition, and Freedom of the Press Foundation wrote a joint letter doing the same.
Yet every time DHS is asked about it, they say they aren’t doing anything wrong, even as lawsuits are filed.
A Texas based freelance documentary photographer has sent me some of his photos from Broadview on 9/26 to publish here. He carries two cameras and is clearly not a protester.

Tomorrow at 9 am, Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh will be holding a press conference at the facility. This morning, a veterans group will have a presser condemning the treatment of Dana Briggs, the 70 year old veteran who was pushed to the ground and arrested, and the actions of ICE.

Almost unbelievably childish. Paintball guns at journalists? What are they, ten?
It’s the banality of evil when one considers how serious this is. People are dying, and being sent to substandard prisons in unknown countries. People who have families they are responsible for and children in school, people who’ve never committed a crime. They are so out of touch. It’s surreal to see this.
Please no Concerned. These are or were openly evil people. Had the Democrats nominated an empty suit, I would've voted for that over Trump.
Literally, a suit on a hanger, placed in the Oval Office, on duty 24/7, and a facsimile stamp given to the Congress. That would've been better than either of the three options.
