Update from Minnesota
On Tuesday January 13, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted a raid at Park and 34th in Minneapolis as part of Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota. A crowd grew as activists arrived, and as neighbors came out of their homes nearby.
Around 10 am, Aliya Rahman drove to the area where the raid was taking place, and tried to drive down the street. When agents stopped her, she said she was disabled and trying to get to a doctors appointment. Agents busted out her passenger side window before dragging her out of the drivers side door, cutting off her seatbelt in the process.
I did a video for Mother Jones recapping the morning.
Sorry to kind of phone it in here, but I’m exhausted.
